Lella Costa closes the MigrArt Festival on 26 March
Two events not to be missed in Lignano for the closing of the cultural event

It will be Lella Costa 26 March with the show Human : Song of our confusion at the Cinecity to mark the conclusion of the MigrArt Festival : Art as an encounter, organized in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD) by the Menti Libere Association with the support of the administration and in collaboration with Bella Italia & Efa Village, Lignano In Fiore ONLUS, Radio Onde Furlane and other bodies and associations.
The MigrArt cultural review ends with two close events full of interest.
Sunday morning 25 March will be the time of the now traditional appointment with the Cleanin'March, now in its 5th edition but never out of fashion, which this year will give a dutiful cleaning to the dunes of the Bella Italia pine forest & Efa Village and which will see the involvement of asylum seekers hosted in the city like every year.
So meet at 12:00 11 in front of the Risto Jet of the Village.
A now consolidated and increasingly fun appointment with environmental cleaning.
The day will then follow in Terrazza Mare where from 16 an open talk will be held by the artist sisters Isabella and Tiziana Pers of the RAVE East Village Artist Residency followed by a debate held by Eva Comuzzi and Michele Bazzana on the virtuous experience of art residencies in the regional territory.
It will end with a guided tour of the works on display and with the classic buffet curated by Chef Andrea Sandri.
As anticipated, the guest of honor of the Lella Costa Festival will close this month full of experiences with the show Human on a high note : Song of our confusion.
Of weapons I sing and of the hero who, primo, from the coasts of Troy he came to Italy, profugo per suo destino…
The inspiration is the Aeneid, Virgil's poem celebrating birth
of the Roman Empire by a population of refugees. Then the myth of Hero and Leander, lovers who lived on opposite banks of the Hellespont. So the events of contemporary exiles who become one with the ancient myths, in a short circuit between present and ancestral past. E’ una specie di “Odissea ribaltata” quella che una meravigliosa Lella Costa ci racconta, questioning the profound meaning of migrating, without giving up irony and humour, “because theater knows how to touch on terrible conflictual issues with the lightness of a smile, the visionary nature of the images, the strength of poetry''.
In short, a closing of the Festival and above all a Lella Costa not to be missed 26 March in Lignano Sabbiadoro.

Artisti MigrArt in Residence
1° Programma di Residenza d’arte contemporanea a Lignano Sabbiadoro
Dal 6 to 11 March it will take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD) il 1° programma di residenza d’arte contemporanea cittadino MigrArt In Residence, inserito all’interno della 2^ Edizione del Festival “MigrArt : Art as an encounter” organized by the Free Minds Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, the beautiful Italy & Efa Village and other local bodies and associations.
The Festival, and consequently the residence, was created to culturally stimulate and raise awareness of a seaside community that, outside the crowded summer season, lives under the banner of a bare creative and aggregative environment.
The aim of the residency is to stimulate a reflection on the dichotomous reality of Lignano but also to encourage the equally difficult encounter between young emerging artists, established artists on the national scene and the host territory.
In fact, they will be Michele Bazzana, Ryts Monet and Kristian Sturi the three versatile artists from Friuli, now consolidated at national level, called to set up the collective exhibition with their works and to play the role of tutor for the nine under-30 emerging artists involved in the organization.
They will be Lorenzo Chinellato, Emma Collauzzo, Andrea D'Arsiè, Alessandro Manfrin, Noah Merlini, Francesco Patat, Greta Plana, Tommaso Sandri and Giacomo Zorba who, under the watchful eye of the curator Eva Comuzzi and the supervision of the three main artists, will be accompanied during the five-day residency in setting up the collective within the various exhibition centers but also in elaborating a reflection on the singular context in which they find themselves working, that of a hibernating seaside resort.
To underline this theme, the organization has decided to structure the exhibition in a path including various spaces, institutional ones such as the renovated exhibition hall of Terrazza Mare which will serve as an operational base and atelier, but also the more informal ones with great symbolic value such as some places that sadly remain vacant in the off-season months.
On March 11 at 18 it will be the moment of the inauguration full of surprises inside the Terrazza Mare in the presence of the curator and the artists which will be followed by a guided tour of the various exhibition spaces.
The collective will be usable for the entire duration of the Festival on Saturdays and Sundays and will see its conclusion with the finissage of the 25 March, same time same place, with a talk by the artists Isabella and Tiziana Pers of RAVE Residency which will be followed by the final event with the presentation of the paper publication.
The show “Human” lands in Lignano

An exceptional event that will officially open the dance of the 2nd edition of the MigrArt Festival : Art as an encounter which will take place in Lignano from 25 February, preview of the review, al 25 March.
HUMAN, a monumental theatrical show that stages an exciting epic in search of humanity where the great Lella Costa and Marco Baliani never tire of surprising and stimulating questions.
HUMAN
by Marco Baliani and Lella Costa
collaboration on the dramaturgy of Ilenia Carrone
and with David Marzi, Noemi Medas, Elisa Pistis, Luigi Pusceddu
Original music by Paolo Fresu with Gianluca Petrella
Set design by Antonio Marras
The title: the word HUMAN crossed out by a black line running through it, as if to signify the presence of the human and at the same time its possible negation.
The body is human in its physical and psychological integrity, in his individuality. When this integrity is suppressed or canceled with violence it falls into the inhuman.
Feelings are human, the emotions, the ideas, relationships, the rights. We dreamed of them as eternal and universal: we must take note – with pain, with confusion – which are not always so.
The history of our twentieth century and the events of the early 2000s tell us that intolerance and persecution, individual or mass, towards the defenseless and innocent, continue to be perpetrated unabated.
With our theatrical research we would like to insinuate ourselves into that threshold in which the human being loses its universal connotation, use theatrical forms to investigate what has been happening in recent years, before our eyes, in our Europe, understood not only as a geographical entity, ma come sistema “occidentale” di valori e di idee: the walls rising, the fundamentalisms that are advancing, the attacks that devastate the cities, refugees seeking refuge.
But if we stopped here it would be another example of so-called civil theatre, and this is not enough for us: we don't want the viewer to leave only more aware and virtuously indignant or moved. We want to displace him, disturb him, upset him, besiege him with questions. And at the same time enchant him and entertain him.
And to achieve this we will theatrically investigate precisely that sign of cancellation, that line that sanctions and severs: explore and conquer the fateful threshold that separates the human from the inhuman, deal with words, reveal contradictions, clichés, impasse, uncover conflicts, hypocrisies, unspeakable fears.
We would like to build a theater ruthlessly capable of putting its finger on the wound, where it shouldn't be, where it would be better to let it go, and touch the raw nerves of our culture regarding the human/inhuman dichotomy.
Without giving up the irony, and even humor: because perhaps only theater knows how to touch on terrible conflictual issues with the lightness of a smile, the visionary nature of the images, the irreducibility of poetry.
