“Arte partecipata a Precenicco: A Bridge Between Generations, Knowledge and Urban Spaces” A participatory art project took place in the heart of Precenicco which left an indelible mark on the local community. This project was not just an artistic expression, but it represented a concrete bridge between generations, an opportunity to mix different knowledge and eras, while redeveloping often neglected urban areas. The initiative, conceived as a collaboration between local artists, cultural institutions and local residents, has led to the creation of works that not only decorate the territory, but they also have a profound social and cultural meaning. One of the main characteristics of this project was its ability to involve people of different age groups. Young students from local schools worked side by side with elderly residents, sharing stories, knowledge and skills. Using art as a means of connecting between generations has also helped break down social and economic barriers, offering everyone the opportunity to actively participate in the transformation of their urban environment. Previously neglected spaces have been transformed into places of meeting and contemplation, enriching the social and cultural fabric of the community. The participatory art project which involved the Cag Zovins of Precenicco and was the continuation of a research work that the same center carried out the previous year on the historical memory of its inhabitants took place in the spring of 2024. The contemporary artists of the Associazione Menti Libere, after some teambuilding work with the local youth group, they have reinterpreted and integrated elements of local tradition, creating works that reflect the unique identity of Precenicco, mindful of the past but attentive to the present and the future. The shared themes that emerged from both the research work and the creative brainstorming all focus on a generational comparison and the common thread of conviviality, of being together. There were two spots identified for urban redevelopment, a wall overlooking the river and the basketball court. He hits and surprises the basketball court, transformed into a typical Friulian table setting, with traditional dishes, bread and salami, the trump card, which highlights how sport and conviviality are linked by need, of all generations, to be together. In conclusion, the participatory art project in Precenicco demonstrated the transformative power of art when used as a tool to connect people, mix knowledge and redevelop urban spaces. As well as leaving an indelible artistic imprint, it has also created stronger bonds within the community and helped create a more livable and inclusive urban environment for all its inhabitants.
The exhibition will be open from 14 April to November 1st.
The event will be part of the “Calma flat. Pensieri per smuovere le acque” in programma a Bibione dal 10 al 14 April
After the preview in Lignano, con l’ottava edizione di ‘Cleanin March’ (which saw the participation of around 80 volunteers and the collection of approximately 200 kg between plastic and polystyrene), everything is ready for the first edition of the festival “Calm calm. Thoughts to move the waters " That it will instead start in April, to celebrate "National Sea Day".
FLAT CALM – It will take place in Bibione, where the Menti Libere association will organize – collaboration with the WWF Marine Protected Area of Miramare, ISPRA Venezia e Ca’ Foscari Venezia; the patronage and financing of the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento with the contribution of Bibione Green&Smart and Lions Club Bibione and Lignano – a series of events dedicated to the sea and the defense of its ecosystem through the arts and scientific dissemination. «“Calm calm. Thoughts to move the waters ", in its first edition, was born from the desire to stir consciences and encourage thoughts and actions aimed towards the common objective of safeguarding the important marine environmental heritage, strongly affected by the effects of climate change and the anthropic impact on its ecosystem», ha ricordato Sandri che ha anche ricordato come «at the end of the festival (Sunday 14 April, at 10, Free admission) we will inaugurate the exhibition of the artist Laura Pugno, open to visitors until November 1st, with the curatorship of Annalia Boldrin».
THE EXHIBITION AND THE RESIDENCE – The works exhibited will be the output of research that the artist developed during the week of residency in March. Laura Pugno was invited to relate to the coastal landscape of Bibione and investigate the urgencies of the climate crisis, placing the lens and listening to the sea. The result of his artistic residency are two works. In Losing sight of the shore (2024), the artist engraves a concretion of clay re-emerged from the erosive action of sea waters, freeing ancient codified correspondences from matter. A tribute to the ammophilous sandstone, typical plant of the coastal dunes of Bibione, whose dense root system consolidates the sandy soil, protecting it from erosion; and a reminder, in the cuneiform lines of the drawing, to the semaphore alphabet used in the past in the navy for communications between land and sea. A warning not to "lose sight of the shore".
L’opera Land Unfolds (2024) recalls the historical memory of the lighthouse with a flag in which the subject is portrayed, a marine horizon, is subjected to a physical and symbolic cut, creating the space for a new terrestrial habitation capable of taking on the fluid and transient traits of the sea. Climate changes are reinterpreted by the artist as the possibility for a new beginning and a new reality in which human beings become the point of contact between sky and sea, a part of a single, universal, tale. The work will be presented to the public as early as Thursday 11 April at 18, on the occasion of National Sea Day, with a participatory performance along the shore of Bibione beach (meeting in via raccoon).
THE PROGRAM – We will begin il 10 April at the Savoy Beach Hotel where Fabio Trincardi will be a guest, marine geologist and geophysicist of the CNR, who will talk about the future of coastal systems and his research expeditions to Antarctica. Following, ci sarà la proiezione del docufilm “Into the ice” del regista Lars Ostenfeld, in the original subtitled version, edited by Cinemazero.
April 11th, there will be a march-performance along the beach, restitution of Laura Pugno's artistic residency. An exhibition will be set up throughout the summer in one of the rooms of the lighthouse, who will illustrate the project in detail, accompanied by photographic and video material.

Dal 10 al 14 April 2024
A series of events dedicated to the sea and the defense of its ecosystem through the arts and scientific dissemination.

Dal 10 al 14 The first festival dedicated to the sea kicks off in Bibione in April on the occasion of the "National Sea Day", which falls annually on April 11th. “Calm calm. Thoughts to stir the waters, first edition of what we hope will be a multi-year journey, was born from the desire to stir consciences and encourage thoughts and actions aimed towards the common objective of safeguarding the important marine environmental heritage, fortemente colpito dagli effetti della crisi climatica e dall’impatto antropico sul suo ecosistema” ha spiegato Tommaso Sandri, presidente dell’associazione “Menti libere” che ha organizzato il festival in collaborazione con importanti partner, such as the WWF Marine Protected Area of Miramare, ISPRA CN-COS Lagoons and Tides Area, Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia e Veneto Agricoltura – the program is sponsored and financed by the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento with the contribution of the benefit company and agency Bibione Green&Smart and Lions Club Bibione and Lignano. “The protection of environmental heritage, e in particolare di quello marino” ha commentato il Sindaco Flavio Maurutto, “It is a fundamental element for our locality. THE LIGHTHOUSE SPOKESPERSON OF NEW CURRENTS OF CHANGE The place chosen for this important event will be the Bibione lighthouse, which with its historical legacy as a maritime signaling station, also suggested the theme for this edition of 'Calm Flat': the correspondences. The warning goes to the signal flags, which were once hoisted onto the high pole by signals that stood out over the sea. The flags carried messages, of graphically codified and universally recognized correspondences. “The festival intends to reinterpret the historical memory of the lighthouse, immersing it in the urgent issues of the contemporary world and asking ourselves what messages it wants to deliver to us, Today, il mare.” ha spiegato Sandri. “Only when we are able to merge our perspective with that of the sea, we will realize that the human being is the Sea, corresponds to him, and we will feel part of one, universal, racconto.”
