Announcement aimed at the construction of an Artist Residence as part of the MigrArt In Residence Project in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD)
MigrArt In Residence is the second program of Contemporary Art Residency organized by the Menti Libere Association in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD) in collaboration with the Municipality of Lignano and other bodies and associations in the area.
The Association, active for almost ten years in the field of social promotion through participatory art, aims to carry out creative projects that deseasonalize the seaside resort.
In October 2021 Free Minds will organize a course that will start on Sunday 3 ottobre con la 7° edizione della Cleanin’March, participatory environmental cleaning day on the Island of S. Andrea in the lagoon of Marano, and will end with the artistic residence "MigrArt In Residence".
The residence was created to culturally stimulate and raise awareness of a seaside community that, outside the crowded summer season, lives under the banner of a bare creative and aggregative environment.
The goal of the short residency that will take place, except impossibilities that may arise from this period, dal 18 al 23 October is to stimulate a reflection on the dichotomous reality of Lignano but also to encourage the equally difficult encounter between young emerging artists, established artists on the national scene and the host territory.
In fact, they will be Michele Bazzana, Ryts Monet and Kristian Sturi, the three Friulian artists, now consolidated at national level, called to set up the collective exhibition with their works and to play the role of tutor for the six emerging artists under 30 selected by the organization.
Under the watchful eye of the curator Eva Comuzzi, the three main artists will in fact accompany the young artists for the week of the residency in setting up the collective within the various exhibition centers but also in the elaboration of a reflection on the singular context in which they find themselves working., that of a hibernating seaside resort.
During the days of residence foreseen by the 18 al 23 of October, the organization will take care of carrying out short guided tours in some emblematic spaces of the locality in order to offer artists a wider socio-cultural landscape overview.
To underline this theme, the organization has decided to structure the exhibition in a path including various spaces, institutional ones such as the renovated exhibition hall of Terrazza Mare but also more informal ones with great symbolic value such as some premises that sadly remain vacant in the off-season months.
Il 24 October will be the moment of the inauguration inside the Terrazza Mare in the presence of the curator and the artists.
During the residency and in the following months, meetings and talks will be organized with artists and students from the Academies of Udine and Venice.

What we made happen at the Senou camp was wonderful.
What we made happen at the camp was wonderful !
There are no specific words which could allow us to describe how art can relief and connect people in emergency conditions.
The swinging toys have been decorated and inaugurated by an amazing multicultural concert.
Then we realized a tree chair thought for the wise men and their storytelling thanks to a group of three great artists.
The people living here will finally have a special place for the fundamental aspect of many ethnies culture in Africa, the oral tradition.
Thus the griot Ibrahim concluded the joyful event by telling the first of a longlasting series of stories.
Thanks again for all those who made this happen.

These children, of the Bozo fishing ethnic group, they take the school bus-pirogue every day to go to the school on the island, una vera oasi di pace in mezzo al trambusto metropolitano.
These children belonging to the Bozo fishermen ethnic group are everyday taking this schoolbus-pirogue to the School built in the middle of an Island.
A peaceful Oasis in the middle of the Metropolitan Chaos.
The paper roll Is now filled with graphic and emotional treasures left by members of many ethnic groups living in Bamako.
Another time this long piece of paper has been a surprising dialogue media between people.

He is Amadou, a Malian friend. It comes from the Mopti region, in Central Mali, and is of Dogon ethnicity.
He’s Amadou, a malian friend.
He comes from the Central Region called Mopti and he belongs to the Dogon ethnic group.
Is there that the interethnic war between Dogon and Fulani has been blasting entire villages.
In the meanwhile he’s living in his realm which Is more a cultural club than a coiffure.
Everytime I pass by I use to spend some time chatting, having chinese bitter tea, understanding nothing about their language and having laughs.
This Is Bamako as well.
