Dal 10 al 14 April 2024
A series of events dedicated to the sea and the defense of its ecosystem through the arts and scientific dissemination.
BIBIONE – Public information meetings, theater show, cinema, art and workshops. Dal 10 al 14 The first festival dedicated to the sea kicks off in Bibione in April on the occasion of the "National Sea Day", which falls annually on April 11th. “Calm calm. Thoughts to stir the waters, first edition of what we hope will be a multi-year journey, was born from the desire to stir consciences and encourage thoughts and actions aimed towards the common objective of safeguarding the important marine environmental heritage, fortemente colpito dagli effetti della crisi climatica e dall’impatto antropico sul suo ecosistema” ha spiegato Tommaso Sandri, presidente dell’associazione “Menti libere” che ha organizzato il festival in collaborazione con importanti partner, such as the WWF Marine Protected Area of Miramare, ISPRA CN-COS Lagoons and Tides Area, Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia e Veneto Agricoltura – the program is sponsored and financed by the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento with the contribution of the benefit company and agency Bibione Green&Smart and Lions Club Bibione and Lignano. “The protection of environmental heritage, e in particolare di quello marino” ha commentato il Sindaco Flavio Maurutto, “It is a fundamental element for our locality. We are therefore thrilled to be able to host the first edition of this festival in Bibione, through the languages of science, of art and culture, we are sure it will inspire the public, raising awareness of the importance of adopting behaviors and lifestyles in line with the positive values of ecology. “Calma piatta” può contribuire a divulgare un messaggio importantissimo: safeguarding natural beauty means safeguarding ourselves, our health and well-being, sia fisico che psicologico.”
THE LIGHTHOUSE SPOKESPERSON OF NEW CURRENTS OF CHANGE The place chosen for this important event will be the Bibione lighthouse, which with its historical legacy as a maritime signaling station, also suggested the theme for this edition of 'Calm Flat': the correspondences. The warning goes to the signal flags, which were once hoisted onto the high pole by signals that stood out over the sea. The flags carried messages, of graphically codified and universally recognized correspondences. “The festival intends to reinterpret the historical memory of the lighthouse, immersing it in the urgent issues of the contemporary world and asking ourselves what messages it wants to deliver to us, Today, il mare.” ha spiegato Sandri. “Only when we are able to merge our perspective with that of the sea, we will realize that the human being is the Sea, corresponds to him, and we will feel part of one, universal, racconto.”
THE PROGRAMMING The festival includes a calendar of events ranging from art to entertainment and public information debates, as well as educational activities and creative workshops aimed at young people. The program of this first edition was opened by an artistic residency which saw the Piedmontese artist Laura Pugno as a guest in Bibione. During the week of residency in contact with the coastal environment of Bibione, the artist has worked on a work whose public return will take place on the day 11 April, with a march-performance along the shore of Bibione beach. An exhibition will be set up throughout the summer in one of the rooms of the lighthouse, who will illustrate the project in detail, accompanied by photographic and video material. Wednesday 10 Fabio Trincardi will be a guest at the Savoy Beach Hotel in April, marine geologist and geophysicist, director of the Department of Earth System Sciences and Environmental Technologies of the CNR, who will talk about the future of coastal systems and his research expeditions to Antarctica. Following, la proiezione del docu-film “Into the ice” del regista Lars Ostenfeld, in the original subtitled version, edited by Cinemazero. Sunday 14 A full day of activities at the lighthouse is planned in April. Among the proposals, una lettura musicata tratta dal libro “Lettere tra due mari” di Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen, which will be performed by the Teatro della Sete company, the public information meeting “Stories of resilience: le sfide della crisi climatica e l’importanza degli habitat costieri” e un’eco-camminata alla scoperta della biodiversità dell’ambiente costiero di Bibione, edited by Foce del Tagliamento o.d.v. and WWF Marine Protected Area of Miramare. Even children will be able to explore the marine world, thanks to the workshops organized by Eupolis. Schools will also be involved, thanks to the support of the Lions Club Bibione and Lignano, in particolare la scuola primaria “Aristide Gabelli” di Bibione, whose students will participate in the last phase of planting in the area at the mouth of the pine forest which was hit by a fire in the summer 2022.
In case of bad weather, where possible, the activities will be moved to the conference room of the Municipal Delegation of Bibione, in Via Maja 84.
