“MigrArt Festival : l’arte come incontro”
A review that from 3 al 19 March will address the theme of migration and reception through the direct and egalitarian approach of art

Theater, documentaries, shows for children and artistic performances in the various cultural centers of Lignano Sabbiadoro to raise awareness of social issues among spectators of all age groups, environmental and intercultural. Many guests and protagonists of this first edition, Aida Talliente and the artists of the Artistic Caravan, i Poets Trastolons, Leo Zannier and Federico Rossi, Lella Costa, Massimo De Bortoli, Stefano Montello and all the volunteers who will make everything possible and wonderful.
A festival organized by the Menti Libere cultural association, born in 2012 from the desire of a group of creative people from Lignano to make youth aggregation constructive. These twenty guys, aged between 16 and i 30 years, He thus began cleaning various parks in Lignano, trying to use art as a vehicle for greater environmental protection.
The project evolves and in 2015 the Association wins the regional tender for Active Citizenship thanks to which it can give substance and continuity to a series of events. Not only local young people but also young asylum seekers staying in the city are involved in these events. Very effective initiatives are born from the point of view of integration which give rise to the Lignano hospitality model which sees the involvement of guests in community activities and in some socially useful jobs.
Between the 2015 and the 2016 three boys from Lignano undertake the Balkan route backwards using art as the main means of communication and interaction. For the entire duration of the trip, three months and approximately 4000 km travelled, the three are accompanied by a thirty meter roll of paper on which everyone can express themselves freely.
This allows them to interact with the migrants they meet, giving the latter a chance for a sweet escape. Once the journey is over, this scroll represents an innovative model of narration of migratory flows, written in the first person by the protagonists of the migratory epic with a universal language.
With the intention of corroborating and sharing this and other experiences, the idea of organizing in Lignano was born, city that has always housed, the “MigrArt : Art as an encounter".
At the end of the event, some kids from the Association will leave for a short but intense tour in which they will take around the exhibition of the scroll and the live multimedia storytelling based on the stories of the latter. In fact, there will be five dates that will see the MigrArt project land in Palermo, Napoli, Rome and then moved for a few days to the earthquake areas with two dates in Visso and Camerino.
Brief discussion on the events of the review:
From the ideas of the backward journey that the three boys from Lignano undertook along the refugee route, a multimedia artistic show was created that tells the emotional sphere of each migratory epic through the music of Roberto Amadeo from Lignano, That, supported by Davide Mauro on sax, will accompany the digital video painting performed live by the Lignano artist Tommaso Sandri. The show premieres on 3 Marzo al Cinecity e verrà ulteriormente impreziosita dalle coreografie delle ballerine di “Zora Studio” di Latisana.
Sunday 5 seguirà l’apertura della mostra reportage del viaggio “MigrArt” presso la Terrazza a Mare: an interactive journey through photos, videos and installations in which visitors will be actively involved. The exhibition will be open until 19 March: on weekends for the public while on weekdays for the schools that accept the invitation.
Wednesday 8 Marzo al Cinecity ci sarà la proiezione del film documentario “Io sto con la sposa” di Antonio Augugliaro, Gabriele Del Grande and Khaled Soliman Al Nassiry.
For Friday afternoon 10 The theater performance for children "Pesciolino Nero" is scheduled for March at L.Hub Park, by and with “The Artistic Caravan of Udine”, based on the story by Iranian writer Samad Behrangi. The artists of the Caravan the same evening at 21 presso il Centro Civico intratterranno i presenti con un dibattito “L’arte come incontro” in cui esporranno la loro attività nei vari campi profughi.
Sunday 12 Marzo verrà realizzata la 4^ Edizione della “Cleanin’ March”: the festive cleaning march of the public areas of Lignano. A project that involves citizens and asylum seekers hosted in the community of Lignano, encouraging meetings between people and the development of a sense of active citizenship, centered on the environment as a common good to be respected and appreciated. La zona interessata alla pulizia sarà il Lungolaguna che va dal “Vivo” al cimitero. The point of reference for participants will be L. Hub Park, as the fulcrum of the laboratory and convivial activity planned in the afternoon.
Friday 17 March at 21 the theater show “Aisha” at Cinecity, by and with Aida Talliente focusing on the story of a girl soldier from the Ivory Coast.
Saturday 18 March instead at L.Hub Park from the afternoon: “Meltin’ Pot” una giornata di aggregazione all’insegna della sperimentazione artistica, musical and culinary.
Sunday 19 March, ore 18, Terrace overlooking the sea: Closing of the exhibition in which the three travelers from Lignano dialogue with Prof. Massimo De Bortoli and the writer Stefano Montello while Lella Costa will intervene via video.
