Migrart in Residence opens in Lignano Sabbiadoro
The traveling exhibition was the result of an artistic residency held in the seaside resort at the beginning of October with the aim of arriving at a reflection on the dichotomous nature of the city.
LIGNANO SABBIADORO – Sabato 8 October, at 18, “Fernando il Tempo” was inaugurated in the municipal library of Lignano Sabbiadoro, the new exhibition organized by the Menti Libere association and created thanks to the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, other local bodies and associations.
La mostra – strutturata in un percorso itinerante fra vari spazi, quelli istituzionali ma anche quelli più informali e dal grande valore simbolico – ha raccolto i lavori prodotti dei sei artisti emergenti selezionati da Menti Libere, Francesco Bendini, Elisa Cocchi, Pierpaolo Petruzzelli, Concettina Squillace, Clare Ventura, Linda Zennaro and the three tutors: «The residence, held right in the seaside town since 3 to 8 October – hanno fatto sapere da Menti Libere –, is the third in order of time and wants to invite a reflection on the dichotomous reality of Lignano: bustling tourist center in summer, and numb locality in winter». The Association, active for ten years in the field of social promotion through participatory art, he really wants to carry out creative projects that deseasonalize the seaside resort. «Along with that – hanno chiuso -, with this initiative we intend to allow young artists to deal with those who have already gained experience, not only at the regional level».
The codroipese Michele Bazzana, Ryts Monet from Puglia and Kristian Sturi from Cormone were the three “tutor” artists, who led the younger ones, under the watchful eye of the curator Eva Comuzzi. In wood, well-known faces of the Italian cultural scene and beyond, they accompanied the under 30 throughout the week of residence during which they were invited to reflect, and to produce works, on the unique context in which they find themselves working, that of a seaside resort, hibernating.
Also within the same exhibition was also included the work of the artist Lucia Pinat who since 30 september to 5 October carried out a parallel residency in Carnia, from the Pesarii. Therefore, not only a look at the seaside resort but also at a geographically distant reality such as the Carnic village.
